Nestled in the foothills of the high and poised Himalayas, the valley of Doon is better referred toas the Gateway to Mussoorie and Garhwal. Dera, meaning a camp, and doon, a colloquial term for a river valley, give the city its name.Mussoorie, known as the Queen of the Hills, is situated at an altitude of 2003 mts in the Garhwal Hills famous for its scenic beauty is a fascinating hill resort. It commands a wonderful view of the extensive Himalayan snow ranges in the north-west and glittering views of the Doon Valley. The town retains much of its colonial charm and is well worth a visit for its beautiful scenery and lovely walks.An ideal place for a quiet holiday, Dhanaulti, 2250 metres above sea level, is nestled amidst deodar and oak forests. Today drive to Dehradun, On arrival. check in to your pre-booked hotel. Later go out for a sightseeing tour of Dehradun. Dehradun is the capital of State Uttarakhand, situated in the northwest corner of the state and nestled in the mountain ranges of the Himalayas. Dehradun has always been an important place for the Indians as well as for the Britishers when it was ruled by them. This is a significant place in terms of having premier educational and Training Institutes like Indian Miltary Academy, RIMC(Rashtriya Indian Military College), Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy(IGNFA), Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA )etc It has also The headquarters of many National Institutes and Organizations like ONGC, Survey Of India, Forest Research Institute, Indian Institute of Petroleum etc are located in the city. After sightseeing goes back to the Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast drive towards Mussoorie. On arrival check in to your pre-booked hotel. Later go out sightseeing in Mussoorie. Popularly known as the “Queen of Hills” a beautiful hill station is just 35 km upwards from Dehradun and at an altitude of 2500 mts above sea level. Must-see places here are Lal Tibba, Gun Hill, Municipal Garden, and Kempty Falls. Lal Tibba: This is regarded as the highest point in Mussoorie situated in an area called “Landour”. Which is known to be the oldest inhabited place of Mussoorie Gun Hill: Gun hill is the second highest point in Mussoorie. it is also known as a picnic spot for the locals. From this point, Mussoorie appears to be changing colours every minute. It looks amazing from here. Municipal Garden: This also known as Botanical Gardens of Mussoorie was established by geologist Dr H.Fackner in the last century. Kempty Fall: Kempty fall is just 12 km down from Mussoorie on Mussoorie – Dehradun midway, the beautiful falls were declared a tourist destination by John Mekinan after 1835. The name Kempty is derived from ‘Camp – tea’, as the Britishers would organise their tea parties here. Past Kempty Fall, 12 – km downhill.
After breakfast drive towards Dhanaulti which is 25 km away from Mussoorie on Mussoorie – Chamba Road. On arrival check in to your pre-booked hotel. Later sightseeing tour of Dhanaulti. Dhanaulti is situated at an altitude of 2286 mts above sea level. Dhanaulti is the launching point for numerous treks into the snow-capped Himalayas.
Later back to the hotel in Dehradun. Overnight at Hotel. In the morning, after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Delhi for onward destination.
